One, of course, cannot fight a war against a tactic. The real struggle is with the force which motivates so much terrorism around the world. Religious fundamentalism. Islamic fundamentalism, Jewish fundamentalism, Christian fundamentalism. Fundamentalists take the 'word' literally. Or at least the few words they choose to obsess about. They create a perfect dreamworld which they believe would exist if only they could force the entire world to be just like them. Most of the people in the world have no dreams of escaping to a mythical past, or into a heaven on earth. They just want to live their lives. This is what drives fundamentalists to terrorism. Curiously the two governments most obsessed with the 'war on terrorism' are two most beholden and submissive to religious fundamentalist fanatic. Those governments are the US and Israel. They cannot comprehend why they cannot lead their "war on terror". The do not understand leading by example. Or how they don't.
