The United States reminds me of the USSR in the 70s, it had invaded Afghanistan and at the time it was perceived as being at the height of its power, nay, the opposite was true. The invasion of Afghanistan was a sign of decline, although it was not seen that way at the time. In the same way the invasion of Iraq and the overreaction of Sept.11, point to a decline of american empire and influence. A rising China, India, EU, and Russia point more to a multipolar world, where the US becomes just a player that is equally dependent on the others to act unilaterally. The invasion Iraq in the future will be seen as the beggining of the end. How this will affect Israel and the Jews will be interesting to see, as the other states, namely, Russia, China, India do not have a vested interest in Israel nor a sense of quilt about WW2 and the jews...especially China and India....Iran.
