My wife and I are Jewish but we are not religious. We keep a traditional Jewish home and brought up our children the same way. A number of years ago my daughter was out of the country and we went into a local store owned by Haredim to look for long distance calling cards. We were dressed for summer weather but not revealing We were in the store for at least 2 minutes wandering around looking for the cards. The man and lady in the store did not once look at us or even bother to ask what we were looking for. We left the store , looked at one another , laughed and thought what a weird experience. Though we are Jews we are looked upon as being beneath them. Bottom line is we might not agree with one another as Jews but we deserve respect from one another. The Haredim need to realize they are not alone on this earth and they need to learn to respect the life of others amongst them.
