Anti-Semites populate the right-wing of the American political spectrum -- that is a given. Prior to WWII, the Republican right opposed US intervention a position predicated largely on anti-Semitism and favorable views of the policies of Adolf Hitler. Last year, when General David Petraeus defined Israel as a major problem for US national security -- the American right led by the Tea Party were listening. Israel's standing in the new Congress is far less secure today than it was in the previous Congress.
