The US is the most religious nation on earth, even more than Iran. This statistic relies on self-definition, attendence, conviction. During the Iranian Revolution, Iran exceeded the US in religiosity, but since then has declined. The secret to the success of US spirituality is "religious competition", where different sects and groups are force to attract the public by being appealing. Unlike Europe which has a coercive antireligious state, the US doesnt have separation of Church and State. Instead, America has FREEDOM OF RELIGION, which punishes religious and antireligious groups who resort to coercion. The trust in the individual's freedom of conscience keeps spirituality alive, vital, and relevant in America.
