Is this some strategy to break the fighting spirit of his supporters in Iraq, fighting under some delusion that they can get him back and thus end the war more quickly? As the judge at his trial said, it was an act to put the era of Saddam behind them, but was it also to prevent any other information about American complicity with Saddam that might come up in subsequent trials?
