I have just gotten a ridiculous flyer mailed by Barney Frank's opponent. It's probably due to my address, which lies within a "ehruv" (or did a few years ago). The flyer says his opponent "Stands with Israel" - nothing about his US policies to the benefit of his constituency. And this means Barney Frank is against Israel? Is another little Hitler? Come on! Too secular? Too gay? Too what? I had words with him when Frank rubber-stamped the bombing runs on Lebanon. Not five miles from his district are Lebanese-Americans who have relatives there. I pointed out to him that 40,000 Americans were retirees in Lebanon. But still he signed on. And now he is being demonized not by the Lebanese-American community but by holier-than-thou Likudnik-Americans. Barney has my vote, even if now and then I disagree with him. At least he is smart and he works fairly hard. His opponent is appealing to paranoia or misplaced patriotism. I don't have any use for him.
