The UN Resolutions provide for borders to be established, as agreed in a peace by the two parties. UN intervention of this sort, is not in accord with it's own Resolutions. Say the UN did position themselves on the 67 borders. 1. This would require full settler withdrawal or enable the ethnic cleansing of the West Bank (as occured in 1948). 2. There would still be no peace because Palestinian want right of return for "their" refugees. So the UN would be there on and on - and be responsible for any border breaches by terrorists (the UN would have to build a 67 border security fence). 3. If rockets were fired how would the UN police the arrest of the perps (they are blocking Israel getting at them). 4. This would be the UN enforcing Hamas terms for a "truce" - Israeli withdrawal from 67 territories.
