Consider the following: 1. Lieberman destroyed relations with Turkey (low chair, flotilla). His explanation: Turkey turned Islamist and this would have happened anyhow. Strangely, Turkey still treated Israel rather kindly (including offering support for fire fighting and Flotilla II prevention).. 2. With the Israeli Arabs, first Lieberman wants to kick them out of the country, then places the blame for Jewish racist attitudes towards them on the victims. 3. "The activists are trying to blame someone for their failure – no doubt they have watched too many James Bond films", this was Lieberman's explanation to accusations by the Flotilla II organizers that Israel sabotaged their ships. If 3 ships out of 12 were found damaged, I take it as extremely probable that they were sabotaged, but Lieberman found another explanation. 4. This is the clincher, Lieberman calling on Abbas to resign, saying: "If there is one obstacle [to peace] that should be removed immediately, it is [Abbas]." Lieberman himself is the greatest obstacle to peace, frightening Netanyahu not to move in that direction at all./ Such an MO might have been proper in the Soviet Union, but please, facts DO matter in the West.
