The Pro-Pals are always threatening the End if Israel doesn't give this or that. Yet, negotiations always start back up 31 years after Camp David and the Egypt Israel treaty. Israel withdrew before and will again. The question is, unlike Gaza and Lebanon 2000, withdrawal doesn't guarantee peace. However, many of the Israelis realize that some Palistinian State will lead to inevitable World indifference to Palestine & Palestinians. That is why the Pals never declared a Pal State. Declaration of a Pal State negate the Right of Return, would immediately negate all Pal recompense. It would 'solve' the problem by replacing the absolute claims of the Pals by replacing it with a territorial dispute. The Israeli settlers would be transformed to an 'oppressed' minority that the Pals are trying to expel or murder. China (supposedly on Iran's side) doesn't need an isolated nuclear state in their hemisphere any more than potentially anti- Islamic India. The Pals don't hold a lot of cards and they know it. There will be negotiations, it will be on the same lines as Taba or the the Olmert Offer. The result won't be devastating for Israel. Yes, Palestine will be small, poor, have foreign troops in it's territory. Israel will continue to be prosperous and have advanced weaponry. Some Arab countries will expel their Pals as Iraq and Kuwait have done. No one but some talkbackers will cry over Pal injustice. It will happen this year or in 5 years, but it will happen.
