If I recall the Turks invaded Cyprus imagining they would do a repeat of the transfer that occured in the early '20s of the last century between Greece and Turkey. It kinda worked, but when Cyprus was about to enter the EU and the Turkish Cypriots thought they might reunite the island, the result of the double referendum was that the Greeks told the Turks "no!". So far Nicosia is still divided, and nothing has been solved between the two parts of the island. Is that what Mr. Hanania wants. It doesn't sound right to me.
