Labour MK Hiam Ramon has publically admitted that the odious seperation wall slicing through villages and fields is as much about demographics as it is security. Israel withdrawal from Gaza, as from Lebanon, had absolutely nothing to do with land for peace and everyhting to do with political necessity. Sharon knew Gaza was a loosing proposition from the start. There was no chance in hell that that 8,000 could outnumber the 1.3 million caged in Palestinians. That was simply not sustainable. Such is not the vision of this government over the West Bank and certainly East Jerusalem. What Israel is doing in Gaza is nothing more than a version of the shell game. Now you see us now you dont. As for the promise from Sharon to Bush to open up more checkpoints and curtail the deeper slicing into the West Bank in order to preserve these loosing ventures like Ariel, well it should be clear to all observers that that will follow in line with his action on the illegal hilltop outposts. You know, those vital security bastions, that serve as bases of harrasment and terror perpetrated against the palestinians, especially in the South Hebron hills area. A big shell game.
