How does this work? Well, the segment of the Israeli population that supports the colonists and their expansionism view it as liberation, that Jews have supranational rights from God Himself to take whatever belongs to them in the first place. The palestines are a non-people or enemies of the Jews and therefore can subssist as subjects to the Jews, but their attempts to self determination must be denied. The the secularists say they need these expanded territories for theri own security and if this inconveniences the Palestinians, well, they have no one to blame but themselves. To the US, Israel agrees to stop the expansionism and the growth of established colonies. They of course have been in violation of this promise since it was made. And there excuse? We will do nothing before they do everything first. The we'll think about it. The percentages here are not the main issue. The issue is that this expansionism and theft of land where another nation resides is illegal.
