    It is deciding what they should not do to their children. Assuming, as you do, that children are some sort of property of their parents that can be treated in any way the parents want is more dictatorial than the assumption that there are limits to what parents can subject their children to. These kids are people and they have rights just like adults do, or does that notion not fit in with your idea of parenting?
