The organizers should have asked anyone that had a problem taking part alongside an Israeli author to stay at home. The conference should have gone ahead, with Ms. Orner alone if need be. This decision is abdication to a handful of anti-Israel writers whose destructive views are allowed to sabotage an entire event. If Mr Caverni was true to his own stance of not holding a conference with those who exclude dialogue, he should have done exactly that, exclude those who exclude dialogue.
