Democracy has an obligation to defend itself. All democratic countries limit rights in one way or another; democracy entails obligations as well as rights, one of which is to not subvert the system that garantees those rights. There are no absolute rights - all rights are subject to some kind of limitations. In our case, the complicating factor is the ethnic/religious conflict waged against us by an enemy that denies our right to exist. We have a right to defend ourselves, with no apologies, against that enemy. Should we be defeated, all the liberal rhetoric in the world would be meaningless.
