They had been shelling Croatian towns and villages and had closed the only road from Croatia to southern Dalmatia. They were the western front of the Serbian plan to overrun the whole of Bosnia and incorporate it in a Greater Serbia extending to the Adriatic sea. (A parallel might be the settlers in the Jordan Valley, the eastern front of the Israeli plan to take over the whole of Palestine and incorporate it in a Greater Israel extending to the river). The price for the Krajina escapade was the expulsion of the Serb community there - tough justice, but what did they expect? Jewish settlers in Palestine and the foolish Lieberman and Netanyahu should look and learn, the price for racial expansionism is high when it crosses the red lines of what the international community will tolerate. Israel has already got both feet over these lines and defiant bluster and bravado from Lieberman is a dangerous provocation to international authority.
