as always a matter of choice. The schools that do so are acting on the wish of the parents. You may have another opinion about it, but the parents in such schools "want it"-- that is democracy where you pays your money and gets your choice. The fact is that "religious" education is no the rise on account of the enrollment to those schools. The Tzibur Dati, Mesorati, and Haredi comprises more of the population in many areas than the Secularists. You don't like that demographics, then either do "something about it", are accept the fact. The two rabbis and the woman that represents a "value-added" society, may attach importance to Jewish Tradition, but . . . what's wrong iwth that?! It's in step with the demographics, isn't it ? Perhaps for the first thirty years the "Old Man" and his cronies had ways of preventing the Religious and Mesorati sectors from getting it full share of the action, but it ain't no mo'. You kon't like it, well . . . Learn to live with it, it ain't goin' away all that soon.
