Updating the Shalit family about Abu Snima's death is merely a PR move. Why should they care? It creates the impression that the IDF is doing something about Shalit, but it does nothing. The family is seeking Gilad's return, not some revenge. In any event, Shalit was captured by Hamas while he was on duty at the Gaza border. This is not "kidnapping" but an old way of falling captive.
