continues to bemoan that we have no diplomatic partner (the mantra of Likud for decades btw) because in essence, President Abbas knows statehood won't be achieved without total renouncing violence against Israel and recognizing Israel. It's difficult to say who's miscalculating on the opportunities to peace in the region, because on the one hand, Israel with its previous government of Kadima, (a party formulated because of Netanyahu, once again) was just months short of a diplomatic breakthrough with the PA, according to documented developments. Likud consistently spoils the path of taking the bold steps required for peace - they won't even acknowledge the borders of the State of Israel! What kind of a government takes people's livelihoods for granted on all sides of its borders decade upon decade and accepts the status quo? We haven't even mentioned the demographic stats, which they also choose to ignore. It boggles the mind which follows this ongoing Middle Eastern territorial dispute.
