Can the world countenance an Iran with a full nuclear programme? In that I mean a nuclear programme which provides power for it's population and the by products to make a nuclear device. The simple answer is no, of course, and the fact the world did offer Iran the facility to generate electricity using nuclear power means that the Iranian nuclear programme must be met with suspicion. However the decision the world has to make is what next? Olmert said in London that Iran has crossed the redline. In which case military action will only delay not halt Irans goals. Sanctions will only work if the whole world takes part and that is problematical, because of Iran's oil as we saw in Iraq in the 90's. So the only realistic option is regime change and because of Iraq that is not an option militarily. In short it is a mess.
