If this was a low level enlisted soldier it would honestly be different. Instead two high-level NCO's made this decision. These are not 18-year olds, they are long-term enlisted men who were most likely (based on rank) not in their first combat operation. They made a choice to do this, not an quick uninformed decision. These are men who issue orders as much as they receive them. These men are leaders of other enlisted and even with their demotion will remain in a place of authority where they obviously have no right to be since they do not possess proper military bearing or respect for human life. And keep comments about how Hamas doesn't respect human life either to yourself (not that I am disagreeing on that). One should not judge themselves by the actions of the enemy, and instead should aspire to be better than them in all ways, especially morally.
