- similar circumstances if this probe is to become a standard? i think aluf benn gives the report too much credence & weight too early. at this stage it's only a report following a UN fact-finding mission, it's not a verdict from the hague or a UNSCR. in any case the report will now be remembered & referred to each time there's a similar military operation conducted anywhere in the world & the usual inconsistencies on the part of the UN will be exposed mercilessly. if israel has nothing to hide, it should just fight the probe honestly & w/all the means it's got. in the final instance it's the courts on an international level that will decide & give a precedence for what constitutes war crimes & what doesn't.
