When Bibi goes abroad he doesn't fly economy he charters a plane. He has to bring along security detail, the plane has to be kitted out with all kind of special communication systems etc so this idea of Bibi traveling economy is a little bit of a a non starter. If we want to save money on MKS travel it doesn't look good in the eyes of the public but the most economical solution would be to buy the equivilent of the US Airforce 1. Buy a second hand plane, it can be made easy to kit out into a diplomatic flight quickly and easily and when not being used by the government it can be used by the aiorforce. Looks like a luxury especially when there is budget cuts but long term it will pay for itself because chartering an ELAL jet is expensive anyway and its even more expensive because it must be fitted out with all this special equipment so it means serious and expensive work changing the interior layout. A specialist plane can be designed so it can be kitted out for the diplomatic visits and as it belongs to the airforce there won't be any extra cost to the government because most of it can be carried out by them at no cost to government. We may even be able to lease the plane to ELAL on the condition it has to be avalible to the government when needed and the government will nit be charged for its use. Financially and practically it makes sense only trouble is it looks a little to glamerous for the government to buy a plane so instead we will have to continue chartering planes when needed.
