Actually, the State is, at long last, reasonably prosperous, reasonably well led, more egalitarian than most and, despite constant efforts to undermine and destroy it, safer than many. This is the time for it to be outward looking to see what concessions it can make for the benefit of others. Unfortunately, Gideon Levy, you have been in the business of negative sniping for so long, that nothing you can say now, whether or not relevant, will be considered worth listening to by the decision makers. Even if this posting is not published, perhaps some budding journalist, possessing Levy's undoubted writing skills, will take it on board and avoid this pitfall.
