The Palestinians tried to seek statehood through the security council but when this failed there was no follow-through. Israel knew this would happen and barely broke into a sweat, let alone a panic. Next time, when the Palestinians run into one obstacle they need to have alternative plans in place. I know it is far easier to say than do, but surely it is not beyond the realms of reality.
