One cannot secure information when one has insecure people. Nor can one have secure people unless one is honest and decent. At the root of Wikileaks is the FACT that the USA lied to it's people and it's soldiers about the situation in Iraq. We had to lie to start the war, we have had to lie to continue the war. One person who was in a position to see just how base and basic the lying was did something totally wrong. He collected the data and ensured it would come to the attention of the world. As despicable and unforgivable as the treason was; it was treason born not out of avarice, but out of being betrayed by his government. Thus the ultimate problem was that the government was perverse and degenerate and caused it's betrayal. This is the most serious of security problems. The depravity of the Third Reich led to the Treason of Admiral Wilhelm Franz Canaris. The depravity of the Bush administration and the cowardice of the Obama administration led to the Treason of Specialist Bradley Manning. Democracy is a funny thing. The government tells people that they are the government. Then if it lies to them, and treats them like it's property and not it's protectors, then people tend to lose the will to fight for the government which betrays them. In the worst case they betray the government which has betrayed it's citizens.
