He had no policy other than promising new politics and his war against the haredi. As soon as the election results were in he announced he intended to be PM within 16 months. He makes more announcements on Facebook than he does in the Knesset. His budget was all over the place making cutbacks in just about everything rather than targeted cuts. Now people moan about trivial things like the price of alcohol going up he rushes to put the blame on his predecessor. Lapid politics has always been about popularism, he likes to avoid tough politics in which you make enemies and keeps latching onto populist issues because its the only way of making friends but no enemies from anybody that matters to him politically. People who who see the way to instant political power is form your own party rather than joining a mainstream party working your way through the ranks and learning as you go. Lapid had never even set foot in the Knesset and he is straight in as finance minister and aims to be the next PM. People like Lapid are an example of all thats worst in Israeli politics.
