I seem to remember both Ehuds, Barak and Olmert making an Herculean efforts to 'end the occupation'. However it is the Arabs who are not ready to compromise. The disputed land was taken from Jordan, not from the Palestinians, but Israel is blamed for defending itself against an enemy who wanted to wipe it off the map in 1967. Obama says it is not fair that the Palestinians don't have a home of their own. But, neither do the Kurds or for that matter the Native-Americans. However, whereas the Kurds and Native-Americans have never been offered a homeland the Palestinians were offered one in 1947, and again more recently, by the aforementioned Ehuds.
