MB is a charitable organization that gathers under its wing a large number of semi-political groupings representing different shades of interests and opinions, but itself is not a political party. The MB cannot enter politics the way it is now. It will have to spin off its constituents as separate parties, at least four of them. The difference between its offspring could be greater on some issues than the difference between them severally and the secular parties. So there will be a great latitude for horse-trading, at which the Egyptians are past masters. What will eventually emerge is likely to be a coalition which represents a broad spectrum of popular opinion, and includes no more than one or two of the MB parties.
