Not in any civilised society, at least. But ok, let's say they are a police force as you claim. They were out of their jurisdiction, they boarded a foreign ship in international waters with weapons drawn. A criminal action by any standard. Worse yet, many of those on the ship wound up being killed. When you go out and commit a violent and criminal act and people die as a result, even if the deaths themselves were not intentional, that is still murder by the laws of every civilised state. On top of that it was an act of war against Turkey, our only real ally in the muslim world - you know, the world that surrounds us on three sides? Former ally now, and who can blame them? If the shoe had been on the other foot - Turkish commandos boarding an israeli-flagged ship in international waters and killing Israeli citizens - does anyone doubt for a moment we would have responded with air strikes? Yet we play outraged that they dont invite our ambassador to a nice dinner...
