As a modern Orthodox person brought up in a Chabad environment all my life, I find Friedmans book of interest but not really relevant to Rebbe's amazing impact on world Jewry. The Rebbe was a great personality who trully loved each and every Jew. You may not agree with some of his ideas but his heart was full of pure love for the Jewish people. His passing was a great loss for all of Israel.
