"In order to correct and atone for begin`s war blunder, the Yishuv had to show it was pro-war and pro-British. The Haganah had to suppress the "revolt", sometimes surrendering Irgunists to the British." - Ben Gurion The great failure of the Palestinians has been that they have never had a leader with a long range view of the problem, and the savvy to devise a means of achieving it. The Revisionist view that they could seize the entirety of Palestine by force of arms was foolish. The plan of the Labor Zionists was far more sound. Just keep building the Jewish presence, the Palestinian economy, and the land until a critical mass had been achieved. Much less macho, and far, far more likely to succeed.
