The letter was signed by members of the extreme left and also people who actually support the complete boycott of Israel as a legitimate state. So no, I don't see the majority of Israeli citizens supporting it! This was a clever PR stunt timed for the start of the Palestinian/Israeli talks. Ariel was established over 30 years ago and performers have been appearing there for many years and suddenly there is a boycott? Why did they wait over 30 years? I hope that we reach an agreement with the Palestinians and withdraw under the terms of that agreement.
