The left that Yossi Beilin and his cohorts talk of is not even remotely the same left that was Ben Gurion, Katzenelson, Golda Meir... They were zionsts that understood a Jewish state meant uniqueness it also meant that peace can only be sought with people that don't seek you're destruction. Beilin wants peices of paper and talk all the while rockets fall on Israel and Iran espouses the wiping out of the state, which is sponsoring the terrorists we are fighting. Beilin is so far from the realities on the ground in Israel that its crazy that he is actually a legislature. The left today is radicalized post zionists, zionism believes in a gaurdianship of the jewish people, what yossi wants is a hebrew speaking portugal a de-judaised state that will bend to popular opinion and philosophical fads and worst off bend to its enemies. You can't shake hands witha closed fist yossi wake up and know we are fighting an enemy that seeks our destruction
