According to Saudi press, the King has expressed his disappointment at Obama's foot dragging and pandering to the Israeli government and pro Israel lobby in the US. The king also reminded the US president of his earlier promise to shift US position from blind support of Israel to a more even handed approach to the conflict. The king also expressed his exasperation at the continuing Israeli counter productive policies especially in and around the holy city of Jerusalem and the ever growing aggressive stance against the Palestinians particularly the on going blockade of Gaza which is causing unnecessary and cruel suffering to over 1.5 million Palestinians which could only serve the interest of radical forces in the region and does nothing to endear the Israelis to their Arab neighbours. The king also said that the Arab peace initiative has a shelf life and if Israel does not seize the opportunity then it will have to live with the consequences
