... that Jews were simply co-religionists rather than a nation. This is also why the Times deliberately under-reported to the point of disregarding the Holocaust during WWII. Maybe the Ochs & Sulzberger's held some ivory-tower theoretical view of who the Jews are, but the Nazis certainly knew a nationality when they saw it. Can't have the Times contradicted by reality you know -- not then, not now.
