The settlements use most of the water in the West Bank at the expense of the Palestinians access to that water, the settlements are all on land taken in various sorts of sleezy business deals which have their own road system which is also built on confiscated Arab lands and Palestinians can not use. The people in these areas who are not settlers have no civil rights, and can not travel freely between their cities and villages. One of the problems of the Israeli Right is that it has constructed all sorts of narratives which, in theory, could be considered reasonable legally, historically, even morally, but ignore the decisive and never-to-go-away issue which is the presence of people, whose lives are miserable and oppressed, and far more difficult, as a result of their presence.
