Most of the world is experiencing serious financial difficulties. Countries such as Greece, Ireland, the US borrow their way out but ultimately they have to pay up. The alternative is to reduce military spending, (I doubt that Israel needs a sixth submarine for example) support of the poor, and healthcare, and to raise taxes on the rich. The idea that such taxes stifle economic growth have never been proven. It is a fiction perpetuated by the rich. The Israeli summer may prove to be very healthy for the country but I seriouisly doubt much new housing can be built. It will change the political climate, which is what it is really about.
