"The events of the military operation to stop the flotilla to Gaza make patently clear that the main lessons of the Second Lebanon War, as set out by the Winograd Committee, have not been applied." - Yehezkel Dror Too true. The right-wing extremists have never accepted the idea that bad decisions, worse execution and a totally flawed strategy led to a serious Strategic defeat. Rather they have twice since repeated the basic errors and twice suffered defeat. Their actions are fantastic. That is they fantasize about what would result from plans which could only work in fantasy. They are acting out juvenile fantasies of omnipotence and invulnerability. While Israel, as the occupying power in Gaza has the legal right to prevent the ships from landing in Gaza, or to control the removal of any persons or material if they do land, the thought of solving the issue without a military strike was inconceivable to them. The primary strategic goal of the activists was to draw world attention to the blockade, and raise world sympathy for the Gazans as well as anger at Israel. The Israeli government has delivered an astounding victory to the activists and a crushing defeat to Israel? After three strikes, The Second Lebanon War, Cast Lead, and the Flotilla Fiasco, isn't it time for the people of Israel to call them out?
