The Left in Israel has never had any sort of popular following, for it is a bourgeois endeavor historically led by the land-owning Laborites. Suffice to remember what happened in 1977, when the secular Left was ousted by the working class's indignation at its haughtiness and injustices. Since then, the only change to the I-Left stance has been the adoption of the Palestinian narrative, hook, line, and sinker. This naturally has brought it to its present situation. What the country's democracy needs, at present, is the emergence of a social-minded True Left, which can ensure the normal functioning of democratic governance by being capable of winning the hearts and mind of the "populace", which itself is a lot smarter and more perceptive than previously assumed by the bourgeois elites. To achieve this, the Left must, first and foremost, recognize the Palestinians for what they are, our enemies, and get cured of that autistic, malignant palestinism of theirs.
