The Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics reports that the 2008 census showed 75.6% of Israelis were Jewish. So what? A decline of .2 is meaningless, right? Wrong. The population of Israel was almost 90% Jewish in the 1950s, and early 1960s. Then the annexation of East Jerusalem led to a drop into the mid 80s, since then the percentage of Israel's population that is Jewish has steadily declined. The percentage of Israelis who are Muslim was steady until 1967 and has grown steadily ever since. No wonder rabid racism has grown in the last decade. Yet how futile it is. Those who demanded the annexation of East Jerusalem doomed the Jewish State. Those who pursue the Settlements are sealing that doom because either they will be forced to destroy the Palestinians in their way, or annex them into Israel. Either way Israel's Jews loose.
