The Sunnis and the Shiites have been killing each other for centuries, because each considers the other to be infidels, and Islamic doctrine calls for death to infidels. Apart from their hatred for each other, and their reverence for Allah, the Sunnis and Shia share one other conviction to which they are dedicated; death to the Jews and the destruction of Israel. Israel's nukes had nothing to do with that dedication, which arises out of Islamic doctrine. But, Israel's nukes have had something to do with the carrying out of that doctrine to the extreme of the destruction of Israel. In fact, it is Israel's nukes that have fended off that destruction. The UN, being what it is, would do nothing to dispel the Islamic doctrine, but it would do anything that it could to eliminate Israel's nukes. And the US, as it has in the past, would do nothing to prevent attacks on Israel, but it would do anything that it could to prevent Israeli nuclear attacks on Israel's Muslim adversaries. The prevention of Israeli nuclear attacks negates Israel's retaliatory threat against Muslim attacks. In the hostile world in which it exists, Israel can survive, and enjoy immunity from massive Muslim attacks, only so long as it can threaten the retaliatory destruction of the Islamic major cities. Peace negotiations, US security guarantees, and fantasizing that Islam is the religion of love, will not alter the Islamic doctrine. Only the Muslims, themselves, can do that, if they will, and only that can bring peace.

Assad used chemical arms against ISIS in Damascus

After Assad crossed Obama's 'red line' by using chemical arms, a deal was reached to see all such weapons removed from the war-torn country. Last week however, the regime used a chemical agent - most likely sarin - against ISIS.

Why U.S. Jews won't condemn the occupation

Unless more U.S. Jews who oppose the occupation become members of established Jewish organizations and donate money, the establishment is unlikely to heed calls of those who want it to condemn the occupation.
