Israel does not want to achieve a 2-state settlement. Iran has its puppet state in Gaza and Hezbollah, its force in Lebanon. I have no doubt that Iran would like to destroy Israel, at least as a Zionist state even if it stops short of wanting to reduce it to rubble. So should Israel attack Iran to try and stop it becoming a nuclear state? Iran's response to such an attack and the logistical problems of achieving real success would indicate, IMO, no. So who does emerge with any credibility from this mess? The international community should be getting four-square behind Fatah who have shown in the past few years that they are the real peace-seekers, the one group who would settle for a 2-state resolution.
