uzi benziman is so right when he says; "practical conclusions should also be drawn-to focus on this threat, and as soon as possible to solve the palestinian and syrian conflicts....." israel has become trapped in its own image building needs...and it has more or less ruined the very image it has tried so hard to project. exuding an image of strength was a neccessity 40, 50 years ago. but once it became clear that israel was the strongest militaty power in the mid east, then why waste time stating the obvious? by doing so it just deepened the hatred and antagonism towards itself. the stupid principle of "searing defeat" on the palestinian mind is a prime example of a policy which has done only harm and no good for israel. had unwise policies such as the frenzy of settelment building ,post the oslo agreement not been followed, the threats to the jewish state would not have been anyway as strident as they are now. israel has made the path to peace that much more difficult for itself, and it will keep getting worse the longer you delay.
