Israel's Foreign Ministry ordered to 'reassess' EU involvement with Palestinians after decision to label West Bank goods; 'decision is almost completely devoid of any real significance,' official says.23:15 29.11.15 | 10 comments
Whatever one may think of the regime in Iran, and it seems to me no more repressive (probably less) than most of the dictatorships in the Arab and Muslim world which are deemed "moderate" in the West, it seems to me that Ahmadinejad played into the hands of the enemies of Iran with the stupid conference on the Holocaust. Although Neturei Karta were invited and sensibly pointed out that the Holocaust is a historical fact, nevertheless the effect of this conference was to associate Iran with some of the most backward and worse elements associated with Holocaust denial. To put it simply, the idea that the truth or falsity of accounts of the Holocaust is a matter for debate is revisionist nonsense. And the implicit idea that the legitimacy of Israel depends on the truth of the Holocaust is also nonsense. Just because German and other European fascists maltreated and murdered huge number of Jews (as well as other groups like homosexuals, Roma and especially Slavs), has nothing to do with the legitimacy (or otherwise) of Israel. Why should the Palestinians pay the price of what was primarily a German (or at least European) crime?
