This was one of the few times that I have agreed with a Haaretz article. The reasons why these elitists are so well protected is because they realize that they are responsible for the carnage of terror that has been allowed to prevail on their watches. To be sure they have enraged a significant part of the population. All of this overt protection is the symptom of a police state. While all heads of state have a security entourage, they do not hide behind legions of beefy guards etc. These Israeli "leaders" know they are despised and realize they could be targeted. The answer to all this insanity is to just throw the bums out and wipe the slate clean. Sharon and his fat son should go back to their Ranch, and once they leave the rest of their toadies will follow. This should in turn free up security for the people who really deserve it - the beleagured citizens of the country. I am sure you can tell that these "elitists" don't impress me a whit. I hold them in equal disdain.
