The Katzav case is another proof that Israel is a strong democracy. No one, even not the president, is above the law. It would be good, if we could say the same about leaders in Europe. President Chirac is not only still in office, he replaced the AG not long ago with a personal friend in order to be not indicted when leaving office. The German FM Steinmeier is still in office and Tony Blair had another visit from Scotland Yard a few days ago, about dubious party financing, to name only a few. Not Israel but that little Israel-hater from Lewes, Sussex, has lost his moral compass, by blaming Jews for everything, from the death of Jesus to the death of an Arab girl. Apparently he was a witness to all these events during the last 2000 years. But it is doubtful if he ever had such a compass.
