It is obvious that the two state solution is dead and has been for quite a while. The peace movement must now turn into a civil rights struggle. A non-violent civil rights struggle is one that can galvanize the whole world. It will not be easy and the Israeli hard right will do everything to provoke violence and try to avoid public awareness of the reality. It was the economic pressure of the boycott that finally convinced the apartheid South Africa to end apartheid. That had seemed impossible just a few years earlier. In Israel also, only economic pressure of boycott, disinvestment and sanctions will change the views of the political class and lead to an end to apartheid and the occupation. A well-organized and publicized non-violent civil rights campaign is the greatest fear of the Israeli right wing. They know it can galvanize world opinion and even change the bought off, craven US congress.
