There are those in Gaza who would have no idea how to handle a peaceful Palestine. They would have to give up their weapons and step aside for the engineers, economists, city planners, administrators, etc. These groups will not give up that which has given meaning to their lives: the struggle against Israel. What happens to them if peace comes to Palestine? They need an enemy to give them importance, thus the peacemakers among them will eventually be seen as the enemy also. Even Israel had extreme groups that the legitimate Israeli government had to rein in during it's early years. These groups can sometimes succeed in keeping peace at bay for many years. They have to be isolated and their public support has to wane before they can be considered ineffectual. This is not going to happen in Gaza because outsiders like Iran keep them continuously agitated and funded and because they still have a large amount of support from the public. Don't expect anything to change in Palestine soon.
